The Origin
Welcome to Mundo Margarita! I'm Greg Archer, and if there's one thing life has taught me, it's this: Why limit happy to an hour?
This site isn't just about sharing incredible cocktail recipes; it's a celebration of resilience, the power of a great soundtrack, and the magic that happens when you mix passion with a little bit of tequila. But before we dive into the ultimate playlist-and-pour pairings, let me tell you how a kid who lost everything ended up building a world of flavor.
When I lost both of my parents right after high school, I was suddenly staring down some incredibly harsh realities. With zero financial support, no inheritance, and no safety net, I found myself working three low-skill jobs just to scrape by for food, housing, and community college classes.
Faced with two choices—make excuses or move forward—I chose to fight. I took inventory of what I did have: amazing friends, an unshakeable drive to survive, and music.
Music became my savior. It fueled late-night study sessions that helped me transfer to Cornell University. It kept me company when I graduated, packed my entire life into a battered, 20-year-old '69 Chrysler Newport (that got a whopping 8 miles to the gallon!), and drove down to Durham, North Carolina for graduate school at Duke University. And when I was completely out of money before my first paycheck arrived—sleeping in that very car, living off peanut butter and water—it was music that inspired me to not just survive, but to thrive.
Music has always been the heartbeat of my life's best moments—from intense workouts to weddings and family celebrations. But a few years ago, a close friend introduced me to a new kind of liquid harmony: the vibrant world of craft Margaritas.
It was an instant, serendipitous connection. Suddenly, our weekend gatherings transformed into impromptu jam sessions. Every new margarita mix we experimented with felt like a new verse in an ever-expanding songbook.
As we collected recipes and musical riffs, they started taking over loose scraps of paper and overflowing binders. They were like lost lyrics waiting for a stage. That's when the lightbulb went off: these creations deserved an audience. I needed to orchestrate this content into a beautiful, harmonious digital home where everyone could enjoy it.
Mundo Margarita was born.
